Sussex County Cricket Club

On 4 March 2020 the phased redevelopment of the Sussex County Cricket Club Ground was officially granted planning permission. The Civil Engineering Practice has been involved throughout the planning process, offering initial consultations and scoping works for transport, highways and drainage.

The traditional village green feel of white picket fencing, grassy areas, trees and shrubs that the County Ground is known for will be retained and enhanced during Phase 1 by the introduction of a more prominent and eye-catching main entrance, a new mixed-use building comprising a new pub and restaurant, 37 new apartments and flexible commercial space, together with historical features such as the old Tate Gates being reinstated and the introduction of a new clock tower.

Phase 2 will see the existing Club offices and the lowest capacity section of the South West Stand replaced with a purpose built five-star conferencing facility built over two storeys and will include a roof terrace. Improved stands of permanent seating together with upgraded refreshment facilities and toilets will encompass Phase 3, followed by the final Phase 4 replacement of the current hospitality buildings providing more permanent low-level seating to reduce neighbourhood intrusion.
